International Legal Jobs: Communications and Campaigns Officer, Coalition for the International Criminal Court The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands
Closing date: 25 June 2023. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Location: The Hague (The Netherlands), New York (USA), or Brussels, (Belgium).
Type: Full-time (36-40 hours a week), six-month contract, with possibility of extension.
Preferred starting date: Early July 2023.
Remuneration range: 40.000 – 45.000 EUR Gross per annum, adjusted to location, and commensurate with the candidate’s experience.

The Secretariat of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court is seeking a communications and campaigning expert to join our team to shape and strengthen how we connect with our global civil society network and promote the fight against impunity to governments, justice actors, and the general public.

The Coalition for the International Criminal Court is the world’s largest civil society partnership advancing the global fight against impunity for serious international crimes. We champion a universal, fair, effective, and independent International Criminal Court and effective national proceedings through the broader Rome Statute system. Through Coalition advocacy campaigns and leveraging expertise across our network to support the justice goals of member organizations, we are advancing victims’ access to justice and connecting the global movement of justice advocates.

Main responsibilities
· Visibility of the Coalition and awareness raising on civil society in the international justice system
· Advocacy/Strategic Campaigning
· Products and tools development
· Management of social media and website
· Knowledge management
Tasks
· In coordination with the Secretariat staff, develop a strategy and content to highlight our work via different communications channels (website, social media, publications, newsletters, etc.).
· Ensure the development of communications materials to achieve communications/visibility objectives, including generate feature stories, infographics, video and other content for both internal and external communications.
· Oversee and develop media relations, conduct media monitoring, and maintain records of media coverage.
· Advise and Build capacity of staff and volunteers on campaigning and communications approaches.
· Support internal communications with Coalition member organizations and community-building within the Coalition’s membership.
· In coordination with advocacy and programme staff, write, edit and distribute various types of content, including materials for the website, press and advocacy materials, and other types of content for specific communications and campaigns projects, including in connection with Rome Statute anniversaries and the annual meeting of ICC states parties.
· Update, manage and maintain website and social media platforms.
· Proofread and copy edit other Coalition materials and translations.
· Monitors and reports on impact and analytics.
· Support the Secretariat with other tasks, as needed.
Qualifications and experience
• Experience in communications, campaigning, and strategy development and implementation.
• Native or professional level written and oral fluency in English, and in French or Spanish.
• Strong technical skills in writing, editing and proofreading, social media and online communication.
• Advanced higher education degree in communications, journalism, international relations, public relations, or another relevant field.
• 3-4 years of professional experience relevant to this post, including demonstrated experience in a communications role.
• Experience in the field of human rights, international justice and familiarity with the work of the International Criminal Court. Previous experience for NGOs or membership-based organisations is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms; and
• Knowledge of website management and publishing software, such as WordPress, Drupal and Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and experience with design and editing tools such as Canva, Photoshop, and InDesign.
